We want to get married next summer and are looking for a venue in the country, preferably in the south. We want a relatively simple ceremony for around 60-70 people (so the venue must have a wedding license). This would be followed by a self-catered dinner on the grounds (maybe a posh BBQ) and then dancing under the stars. We don’t want to pay an arm & a leg for catering or corkage and we don’t want a curfew. Can anyone recommend somewhere nice that meets this criteria?

What does anyone think of Shakeshaft self-catering in Capel Dewi, Carmarthen, South Wales?
I went there a couple of years back and found the owners very disrespectful. The rooms were quite grubby (dead flies, dust, mould in the fridge, etc) and facilities generally not very good. Yet they charged quite a lot of money for just one weeks stay. I Just wondered what anyone else thought about this poor standard of accommodation and if anyone had suggestion of better accommodation in South Wales? Or should I give up and visit another country? Anyone have any thoughts?
